Does UMix require a long-term agreement?
No. In fact, UMix declares the age of long-term music agreements over! A three month term is all that's needed. We believe this is the shortest agreement term in the industry. We want your business because you are satisfied, not because of a long contract.
So why have any agreement?
Because all UMix music is provided using underlying agreements to maintain compliance with U.S. copyright law. Our Subscription Aggreement with your business is your verification to the Performance Rights Organizations [ASCAP and BMI] that you are using a business music provider (UMix) and that performing rights are being paid on behalf of your business.
Why does UMix offer a Free Trial?
There are two primary reasons. First, we're aware of no one in our industry who offers a completly Free Trial, so it helps set us apart. Second, we're very confident that if you give us a try you'll love what you hear and see how easy it is!
How does the free music trial work?
You download and install our Player App on your Windows PC. Then you'll register for an on-line account. No credit card info is needed.
Are the music royalties included with my subscription?
Yes. UMix maintains strict compliance with U.S. copyright law. Royalties are included for the purpose of ambient music and telephone on-hold music. We offer ALL Major Labels and thousand of songs by Independent Label Artists.
Do I need special hardware?
No. The UMix App runs on Windows. If you decide you want the player as a separate piece of hardware we have that available. The current price is $239.
Can UMix play more than one zone at a time?
Yes. The App is capable of creating two completely distinct audio zones - with music and/or messages on each zone.
Can my employees change the music while I'm gone?
No. Only the Account owner [with secure ID and PW] can make updates.
With another provider I have to submit a "programming request" to change music. Does UMix require that?
No. Using your on-line account, you are always 100% in control.
I may need some help selecting playlists. Does UMix provide that kind of help?
Yes we do. UMix Music Programming expertise is on stand-by to help you when needed.
How fast can I hear my updates?
You can hear your programming changes [e.g. - changing music, adding new messages] automatically in less than one hour!
Do I need an audio system?
Yes. UMix provides music content that plugs into your music amplifier or stereo receiver using a standard RCA connection.
Can I use a "home stereo" amplifier or receiver to play UMix in my business?
Yes. The output from UMix is in mono format. Just let us know you're using stereo when you order and we'll include a free signal-splitter, to provide content for both stereo channels.
Does UMix install audio systems?
We use a network of Independent Audio Installers across the United States to help you with audio system installation.
Does UMix handle larger, multi-location system roll-outs?
Yes.
